About Department

Vision

To become a leading department of Management Information System of the College of Business, Rabigh that is recognized through the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia as a provider of education and research facilities in management information System and the related areas.

Mission

The department’s mission is to reach out to all those who have capability and desire to learn, whether through full-time, through external learning or through distance learning, and develop themselves to excel in the field of information system and compete in national and international job markets. Our mission is to work with students to change their attitude, skills and knowledge in their professional achievement.

Objectives

We aim to offer pragmatic learning environment where students build their career in order to;

• Apply modern tools and technologies in a scientific and productive method while performing the tasks on their jobs.
• Analyze, design, construct, implement and maintain the information system that are usable and trusted to support the operating, managerial as well as the strategic activities of the establishments and organizations.
• Analyze, design and process the databases which are considered the cornerstone for most information system.
• Plan, arrange and observe the projects of developing the information system.
• Support the managers of information system in the field of managing databases and to develop the information system and managing the projects.

Degree

A graduate from this department will earn bachelor degree in Management Information System from King Abdul Aziz University.

Language of instruction

All regular full time courses are taught in English language except external and distance learning courses which are currently being taught in Arabic. Teaching for all new intakes of external and distance learning is planned to switch over to English.
